The railway has a total length of about 270 kilometers and a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour, including about 73 kilometers in Inner Mongolia and 197 kilometers in Shanxi

From Datong, through Taiyuan, Zhengzhou, Xi’an and other railway hubs, it can directly reach the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and southwest China, further enhancing the geographical advantages of Shanxi and Inner Mongolia, which will bring more development opportunities to our city

The train running time from Ulanqab to Datong will be shortened to about 30 minutes, and that from Hohhot to Taiyuan will be shortened to about 150 minutes

After the completion of jidayuan high-speed railway, the regional high-speed railway in northern Shanxi will be incorporated into the national road network to shorten the space-time distance between Datong and all parts of the country

According to the objectives and requirements of the provincial government and the State Railway Group, the whole line project will be implemented step by step, and the Datong Shuozhou section will strive to be opened by the end of 2022; Datong Ulanqab section will strive to be opened before the end of 2023
