It is worth mentioning that this is the first case of tunnel trolley maintenance construction in Zhejiang Province.

Entrusted by the owner unit, our institute carried out maintenance and reinforcement design for the tunnel.

With the joint efforts of the owner and all participating units, the reinforcement and upgrading project of the lining of the Maaoling Tunnel without interruption of traffic was successfully completed before the Spring Festival, further ensuring the safe and orderly passage of the high-speed main line during the peak return period.

In order to minimize the impact of maintenance and construction on traffic, the innovative design of construction machinery (intelligent mobile trolley) has opened up a new idea of uninterrupted traffic construction.

The main maintenance content is to carry out finite element analysis on the lining void, potential falling risk, insufficient effective thickness of lining and other diseases that affect the operation safety of the structure, and propose targeted maintenance and treatment plans.

Maaoling Tunnel is located in Ningbo Phase II of Yongtaiwen Expressway, and is also an important tunnel on the G15 Shenyang-Haikou Expressway.

The successful completion of this project shows that the normal operation of expressway and tunnel maintenance construction can be carried out in parallel on the basis of uninterrupted traffic by using customized intelligent mobile trolley and scientific management methods.

Since the Maaoling Tunnel has been in operation for 22 years, in order to ensure the safe passage of vehicles in the tunnel, the Ningbo Management Center plans to reinforce the Maaoling Tunnel in early 2022.

Zhejiang Online News reported that “in the 28 days of construction by using the intelligent mobile trolley without interrupting the traffic, the system guided 223 out-of-gauge vehicles to bypass ahead of time, and there was no false entry and liability accident during the whole process, effectively ensuring the orderly traffic and construction safety of vehicles in the tunnel.”
